Save the Date for La Table: Tuesday, February 25, 2025
La Table is an annual benefit luncheon designed to raise awareness and funds to alleviate family homelessness in the Athens area.
La Table is Family Promise of Athens’ signature fundraising event. We invite you to join in the fun as we gather together for a luncheon at the 1055 Barber at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 25th. Table hosts will provide wonderfully themed table decor for each table and we will enjoy a meal together as participants learn more about the mission and work of Family Promise. If you would like to attend the event, we welcome you to join! Whether you have a table host, or would like to attend and be placed at a community table, we would love to have you. A donation of $65 will register you for the luncheon.
All community members are invited to buy a ticket to attend La Table, but if you are interested in hosting a table, please reach out. Hosting a table means that you commit to inviting 7-9 guests to your table as well as taking care of the decorating of the table. Interested in learning more about becoming a table host? Registration can be done via mailed check or online in advance.:
If you choose to mail a check, please make your donation check out to Family Promise Athens and write La Table plus your table host and meal request (chicken or vegetarian) in the memo to PO Box 581 Athens, GA 30603.
If you choose to register online, the cost will be $67.50 to cover credit card processing fees. There are drop down menus for your meal preference and table host. If you buy more than one ticket, please provide the name of the other guests in the comment section. We look forward to celebrating with you!

Table Decorations
Each year volunteers are recruited to serve as table hosts. Table hosts create elaborate themed designs to embellish their table. Sometimes the decorations feature items to be donated to Family Promise of Athens to assist with the care of our guests. Other times the centerpieces hold special meaning for the hosts or the congregations they represent. Table hosts invite friends to join them for the luncheon. Each guest contributes a $65.00 donation to attend. The cost of food, facilities rental, and service is covered by presenting sponsors.
silent Cake Auction
One of the highlights of each La Table benefit luncheon is the silent cake auction. Community members bake cakes for auction during the event, and local pastors also enter cakes in the special Clergy Bakeoff! Bidding goes on throughout the event.
Family Promise updates
You will hear updates and happenings from the past year of Family Promise from the Executive Director, Staff, Board Members, and Volunteers. This will provide additional insight into our work and our future plans and goals!
